Teen Summer Volunteering

  • Check out opportunities with Summer Squad and Y.E.L.L. (Youth Engaged in Library Leadership)! Summer Squad will assist with Summer Stride, SFPL's summer reading program from mid-May to mid-August. Participants in Y.E.L.L. will meet on Saturday afternoons from mid-May to mid-August to learn and engage Richmond children in S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) activities, complete a community-based tech project, and earn a $500 scholarship. 


  • High interest books for adult, teen and children
  • Basic collections of fiction, nonfiction and reference materials
  • Variety of magazines, newspapers, audiobooks, CDs and DVDs in English, Chinese and Russian
  • Large collections of Russian and Chinese language materials for Adults and Children.
  • Small collection of Korean and Vietnamese materials
  • Medium collection of Chinese Teen materials
  • Medium collection of Spanish materials for children.
  • Small collections of French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese for children

Languages spoken by staff (based on staff availability): English | Chinese - Mandarin & Cantonese | Russian | Spanish | Vietnamese
