In an effort to get more teens to hit the books this summer, the San Francisco Public Library launches its Teen Summer Read program June 15–July 27.
Teens, ages 13-18, can earn valuable prizes by reading and then recording their thoughts about what they read on comment cards. Teen Summer Read participants will receive a prize for every 10 hours they read.
Teens who read 30 hours or more will be eligible to enter a raffle for grand prizes, such as an iPod Nano, Southwest Airlines tickets, amusement park passes, free art classes and more. Those who read 30 hours
will also receive an invitation to a teens-only finale party with entertainment and refreshments on Aug. 3.
