SF Public Library to Present Holiday 2002 Lecture Ready When You Are, Mr. DeMille!San Francisco -This year's holiday lecture at the San Francisco Main Library goes multi-media as author and well-known lecturer Alastair Johnston introduces selected film and video clips to show how printing and the book arts have been represented (and misrepresented) in film and television, from Twilight Zone and The Waltons to I, Claudius, Lon Chaney's Hunchback of Notre Dame, and The Name of the Rose. Full of humor and insight, the program will delight viewers of all ages. This world premiere of 'Ready When You Are, Mr. DeMille' starts at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2002, in the Koret Auditorium, Lower Level, San Francisco Main Library. (Running time 2 hours.) No ticket required! The Civic Center BART station and several bus stops are just across the street from the Library's main entrance, making access easy and convenient. This lecture is sponsored by the Marjorie G. and Carl W. Stern Book Arts and Special Collections Center, San Francisco Public Library, 100 Larkin Street, Civic Center. The Rare Book Room is located in the Center on the 6th floor of the Library. All programs and exhibitions at the Library are free of charge and open to the
