Awakening from the California Dream
Dramatic accounts of California's changing environment


Program:
The exhibit Awakening from the California Dream: An Environmental History, documents the stark contrast between the natural California of the past and what the landscape has now become. They vividly account the evolution of the state's environment and look optimistically ahead to its future.

Exhibit opens: June 2, 2003
Opening program: June 4, 2003

5:30 - 8:00 p.m.

The San Francisco Public Library's Jewett Gallery 100 Larkin Street, San Francisco.


Guests:
Historical geographer-writer Gray Brechin and photographer Robert Dawson discuss the environmental crisis of California and its future implications. Both embarked on a 5-year venture through California to explore and document parts of the state that most people never see.
