The work is largely a response to the current racist policies promoted by the Bush administration and aimed at the gay community. These policies and public statements— and the lack of public statements—support an attitude accepting of the practice of violence especially aimed at gay culture and its symbols. These practices slash at our persons both real and symbolic.
