The title Trans-Sister Radio was the driving force behind the creation of this piece. Working
in the field of conservation, I felt the need to restore the book. Resisting the urge to alter
it, I wanted it to remain intact so the story could be read. The original cover and inside
pages had been damaged. Although the first few pages had been slashed, ironically, the
curving cut seemed to echo the radio wave symbol found throughout the text block. The
cover’s pastepaper was designed to convey short, twisting sounds carried by radio waves.
I decided this piece deserved to have its own special housing, so I created a “radio”
box slipcase.
