It’s a brand new year—why not start it with a colorful new library card?
You can now choose from four cool, colorful new styles for your library card, designed by young San Francisco artists.
Last May, the Library, in partnership with the San Francisco Unified School District, held a children’s library card art contest based on the theme “My Library.”
A winner from each category—preschool, elementary school, middle school and high school—was selected in July, and the winning designs have been incorporated into
the library cards and are available to all patrons—adult and children. (You can still get the standard-issue card, too). A smaller, keychain-style library card
will also be included with the “designer” cards. Visit the Main Library or your neighborhood branch to get your new card today!
Between now and April 30, you can turn in your old card for a new one of your choice at no charge. After April 30, a fee of $0.50
for children and young adults; and $1 for adults will be charged for replacement cards.
