San Francisco Poet Laureate Jack Hirschman will kick off National Poetry Month as he reads from his newest book of poetry, All That’s Left, on April 1 at the Main Library. Hirschman’s book includes a powerful collection of poems on social justice, excerpts from his masterpiece “The Arcanes”, and recent works that focus on contemporary events as well as poems that honor writers who influenced his work such as Jack Kerouac, Bob Kaufman and others. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Koret Auditorium. It is co-sponsored by the Friends of the San Francisco Public Library and City Lights Books. A book sale and signing will follow the program.
