Clinton Day's City of Paris and the Fitzhugh Buildings. They are missed. The older of the two, the City of Paris dated from 1896 at which time it was the Spring Valley Water Works Co., with space rented to the famous store. Rebuilt after the fire, the department store took over the entire structure.
