"Hurried through to be ready for the 1915 Panama Pacific Exposition, the 3rd and Townsend train depot was for a long time the city's most impressive piece of Mission Revival architecture. A modest new station was built a block away and the old building was destroyed as if in disapproval of this kind of out-of-date grandeur. The site is now S.F.R.V Park."
