NOTICE OF MEETING
A regular meeting of the San Francisco Public Library Commission will be held as follows:

PLACE: Koret Auditorium, Main Library, lower level
The meeting will be called to order.
1. RECOGNITION OF FY 2005/2006 LIBRARY STAFF RETIREES
Presentation of certificates of appreciation to FY 2005/2006 library
staff retirees. DISCUSSION
2. PUBLIC COMMENT
(This item is to allow members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s consideration.)
3. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES ACTION
Presentation, discussion, and possible action to approve the minutes of the regular Library Commission meeting of November 2, 2006.

4. CITY LIBRARIAN’S REPORT by City Librarian Luis Herrera DISCUSSION
(This item is to allow the City Librarian to report on recent Library activities and make announcements)
The City Librarian will report on the following topics: public instruction programs offered at the library; opening of Western Addition Reading Center and Presidio International Center; update on acquisitions process for new books and out of print materials; press release regarding Library’s public safety initiative; and highlights on exhibitions and programs.
5. FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY REPORT DISCUSSION
(This item is to allow the Friends of the San Francisco Public Library to inform the Commission of their current and proposed activities.).
6. LIBRARY COMMISSION 2007 MEETING SCHEDULE ACTION
Presentation, discussion, and possible action to approve a proposed schedule for regular Public Library Commission meetings during 2007.

7. AMENDMENT TO BYLAWS ACTION
Amending Library Commission Bylaws, Article III, Section 6 to conform to the Attendance Policy adopted at the Library Commission meeting held on November 16, 2006.

8. PUBLIC EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENT- ACTION

Public Comment (on all matters pertaining to the closed session)
Vote on whether to hold closed session pursuant to California Government Code Section 54957(b) (1) and San Francisco Administrative Code Section

(This item is to allow members of library labor organizations to report on employee matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s consideration.)
