NOTICE OF MEETING

A special joint meeting of the San Francisco Public Library and Recreation & Park Commissions will be held as follows:

DATE:       Thursday, November 20, 2003

TIME:        12:30 PM

TIME CERTAIN - NOTE DIFFERENT TIME & MEETING LOCATION

PLACE: City Hall, Room 416

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE LIBRARY COMMISSION WILL ALSO HOLD ITS REGULAR MEETING ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2003 AT THE REGULAR TIME AND PLACE AT 4PM IN THE KORET AUDITORIUM, MAIN LIBRARY

The special meeting will be called to order.

1. Joint Recreation and Park and Public Library Issues DISCUSSION

Presentation of and discussion of joint issues regarding branch libraries located within or adjacent to Recreation and Park Department properties, including: Bernal Heights Branch-Bernal Heights Playground; Marina Branch-Moscone Recreation Center/Playground; Ortega Branch-West Sunset Playground; Parkside Branch-McCoppin Square; and Western Addition Branch-Hamilton Recreation Center/Playground.

(Pursuant to California Government Code § 54954.3(a) (“Brown Act”) and SF Admin. Code §67.15(b) (“Sunshine Ordinance”), each member of the public shall have the opportunity to address the Joint Library and Recreation and Park Commissions on the subject of this meeting.  There will be no additional general public comment at this special meeting.)     

2.      ADJOURNMENT (requires motion and public comment)        ACTION

Explanatory documents: Copies of any listed explanatory documents are available as follows: (1) from the Commission Secretary/Custodian of Records, Main Library, 6th Floor, (2) in City Hall, Room 416 immediately before and during the meeting, and (3) to the extent possible, on the Library's website at http://sfpl.org/.

Additional materials not listed as explanatory documents on this agenda, if any, that are distributed to the Library and Recreation & Park Commissioners prior to or during the meeting in connection with the agenda item will be available to the public for inspection and copying in accordance with Government Code Section 54954.1 and Sunshine Ordinance §§ 67.9, 67.28(b)& 67.28(d).
