NOTICE OF MEETING
A regular meeting of the San Francisco Public Library Commission will be held as follows:

The meeting will be called to order.
1. PUBLIC COMMENT
(This item is to allow members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s consideration.)
2. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES ACTION
Presentation and discussion of and possible action to approve the minutes of the regular Library Commission meeting of September 21, 2006.

4. CITY LIBRARIAN’S REPORT by City Librarian Luis Herrera DISCUSSION
(This item is to allow the City Librarian to report on recent Library activities and make announcements)
The City Librarian will report on the following topics: update on Main Library Post Occupancy Evaluation Project; wrap up on One City, One Book: San Francisco Reads; attendance at First Joint Librarians of Color Conference; and highlights on exhibitions and programs.
5. FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY REPORT DISCUSSION
(This item is to allow the Friends of the San Francisco Public Library to inform the Commission of their current and proposed activities.).
6. PUBLIC SAFETY PLAN DISCUSSION
Presentation on findings from Main Library staff survey, focus groups, and patron surveys as part of the Library’s Public Safety Plan.

7. EXCELSIOR LIBRARY SERVICES OVERVIEW DISCUSSION
Presentation on services and programs at the Excelsior Branch Library.
8. LIBRARY COMMISSION ATTENDANCE POLICY ACTION
Discussion and possible action to adopt Library Commission Attendance Policy, pursuant to the Board of Supervisors Resolution 502-06 and the Mayor’s September 18, 2006 memo regarding Commissioner attendance.

9. LABOR UNION REPORT
