NOTICE OF MEETING

A special meeting of the San Francisco Public Library Commission will be held as follows:

PLACE: Koret Auditorium, Main Library, lower level

The meeting will be called to order.

1. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES ACTION

Presentation of, discussion of, and possible action to approve the

Minutes of the regular Commission meeting of July 17, 2003.

2.      BOND PROGRAM MANAGER’S REPORT                                          DISCUSSION

(This is a discussion item to allow the Branch Library Bond Program Manager to report on recent bond program related activities and make announcements.)

This report will consist of an informational presentation: none regular reports: program budget and schedule; active projects; and community outreach; and special reports; none.

3. JOINT USE COOPERATIVE AGREEMENTS - SFPL & SFUSD        ACTION

Presentation and discussion of Cooperative Agreements for Ingleside Branch – Aptos Middle School / Ortega Branch – A.P. Gianni Middle School, Sunset Elementary School /Visitacion Valley Branch – Visitacion Valley Middle School, Visitacion Valley Elementary School between the Library and the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) and possible action to approve resolutions recommending Board of Supervisors’ approval of the proposed agreements.

4. CITY LIBRARIAN’S REPORT by City Librarian Susan Hildreth DISCUSSION

(This item is to allow the City Librarian to report on recent Library activities and make announcements)

The City Librarian will report on the following subjects: Tool Lending Center status update, the CIPA decision; and a 02/03 Statistics report.

5.      03/04 LIBRARY BUDGET UPDATE                                         DISCUSSION

Presentation on and discussion of the Library’s FY2003/04 Budget as approved by the Board of Supervisors.

6. MAIN LIBRARY (POE) REPORT DISCUSSION

Presentation and discussion of an update report on Main Library Post Occupancy Evaluation Report (POE) related projects.

7.      PUBLIC COMMENT             

(This item is to allow members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s consideration.)

8.      STRATEGIC PLAN PUBLIC HEARING                                     DISCUSSION

(The Public Hearing seeking comment on the draft 2003-06 Strategic Plan will begin at 5:30PM)

9.      ADJOURNMENT (requires motion and public comment)                                      ACTION
