Notice of Meeting

A regular meeting of the San Francisco Public Library Commission will be held as follows:

Date: Tuesday, July 03, 2001 Time: 4:00 PM Place: Koret Auditorium, Main Library, lower level

The meeting will be called to order.

  1. ACTIONAPPROVAL OF THE June 5, 2001 MINUTES

    Presentation of, discussion of, and possible action to approve the Minutes of the regular Commission meeting of June 5, 2001.

  2. DISCUSSIONCITY LIBRARIAN’S REPORT
    by City Librarian Susan Hildreth

    (This a discussion item is to allow the City Librarian to report on recent Library activities and make announcements)

    This report will consist of a report on the American Library Association Annual Meeting, a Library Budget update, a report on the success of the amnesty program, and a report on Prop. 14 (State Library Construction Bond) related activities.


  3. DISCUSSIONBRANCH LIBRARY BOND PROGRAM REPORT

    Presentation of, and discussion of an update on Prop. A (2000) Branch Library Construction and Improvements Bond related activities.


  4. ACTIONPATRON CONDUCT POLICY,
    "Guidelines For Library Use"


    Presentation of, discussion of, and possible action to approve a revised Patron Conduct Policy - Guidelines for Library Use.

  5. DISCUSSIONAFFINITY CENTERS UPDATE

    Presentation on and discussion of the Library’s Affinity Centers.


  6. DISCUSSIONFRIENDS AND FOUNDATION REPORT

    (This item is to allow the Friends and Foundation of the San Francisco Public Library to inform the Commission of their current and proposed activities.)


  7. DISCUSSIONUNION REPORT

    (This item is to allow members of library labor organizations to report on employee matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s future consideration.)


  8. DISCUSSIONNEW BUSINESS

    (This item is to allow Commissioners to introduce new agenda items for future consideration.)


  9. DISCUSSIONPUBLIC COMMENT

    (This item is to allow members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s future consideration.)


  10. ACTIONADJOURNMENT

    (requires motion and public comment)

    * Public comment will be taken before or during the Library Commission's consideration of each agenda item.
