Presentation of, discussion of, and possible action to approve a Library Privacy Policy to safeguard the privacy of all library users and preserve confidentiality of information sought or received, and materials consulted, borrowed, or received

- ACTION4. RFID RECOMMENDATION
Presentation on and discussion of use of a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system in the Library in order to reduce workplace injuries and enhance Library operations, and possible action to approve acquisition of RFID-based technology to replace existing barcode based circulation and magnetic security systems, subject to adoption of suitable criteria and policies to protect user privacy.

- DISCUSSION5. CITY LIBRARIAN’S REPORT

The City Librarian will report on the following subjects: Library legislative Days in Sacramento (April 21st) and Washington, D.C. (May 3rd &4th); an update on the library citizen advisory committee; Proposition 14 3rd cycle eligibility review completed; the Ocean View Branch public art project, and exhibits and programs.

(This item is to allow members of library labor organizations to report on employee matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s consideration.)
