Notice of Meeting

A regular meeting of the San Francisco Public Library Commission will be held as follows:

The meeting will be called to order.

  1. ACTIONAPPROVAL OF THE MARCH 6, 2001 MINUTES

    Presentation of, discussion of, and possible action to approve the Minutes of the regular Commission meeting of March 6, 2001.

  2. ACTIONAPPROVAL OF THE MARCH 15, 2001 MINUTES

    Presentation of, discussion of, and possible action to approve the Minutes of the special Commission meeting of March 15, 2001.

  3. ACTIONAPPROVAL OF THE APRIL 3, 2001 MINUTES

    Presentation of, discussion of, and possible action to approve the Minutes of the regular Commission meeting of April 3, 2001.

  4. DISCUSSIONCITY LIBRARIAN’S REPORT
    by City Librarian Susan Hildreth

    (This a discussion item is to allow the City Librarian to report on recent Library activities and make announcements)

    This report will consist of a report on the effective date for the new fine and fee schedule, an update on the status of the supplemental appropriation request for Main Library POE repairs, an overview of the Branch site selection meetings, and a report on the Branch facilities plan outreach efforts.


  5. DISCUSSIONCARNEGIE BRANCH LIBRARY LANDMARKING

    Presentation and discussion of a proposal that the San Francisco Landmarks Preservation Advisory Board designate the Carnegie branch libraries such as the Richmond, Mission, Noe Valley, Golden Gate Valley, Presidio, Sunset, and Chinatown Branch Libraries as landmark structures.


  6. ACTIONLIBERARY FEE AMNESTY

    Presentation of, discussion of, and possible action to approve a Library Fee Amnesty in the period prior to July 1, 2001 as authorized by the Board of Supervisors.

  7. DISCUSSIONLIBRARY BUDGET UPDATE

    Presentation on, and discussion of recent FY 2001-2002 Library Budget activities by Library Finance Director George Nichols.


  8. DISCUSSIONFRIENDS AND FOUNDATION REPORT

    (This item is to allow the Friends and Foundation of the San Francisco Public Library to inform the Commission of their current and proposed activities.)


  9. DISCUSSIONUNION REPORT

    (This item is to allow members of library labor organizations to report on employee matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s future consideration.)


  10. DISCUSSIONNEW BUSINESS

    (This item is to allow Commissioners to introduce new agenda items for future consideration.)


  11. DISCUSSIONPUBLIC COMMENT

    (This item is to allow members of the public to comment generally on matters within the Commission’s purview as well as to suggest new agenda items for the Library Commission’s future consideration.)


  12. ACTIONADJOURNMENT

    (requires motion and public comment)
