NOTICE OF MEETING AND AGENDA

ORDER OF BUSINESS

--Presentation on collection development and usage data, Marcia Schneider and Laura Lent (Presentation and Questions) 6:50PM --Resolution on Post-Occupancy Evaluation Main Library renovations from the Capital Projects Subcommittee 7:25PM The LCAC (1) commends the SFPL for moving books out of closed storage and recommends continuation of this practice to the extent possible; and recommends
(2) Installation of prominent street and way-finding signage at the Larkin, Fulton and Grove Street entrances;
(3) Installation of a railing or stair marking system at the atrium entrance and the Larkin Street stairs;
(4) Creation of better access to the children’s area;
(5) Design of a warm and welcoming space in the first floor reading room by use of attractive décor, comfortable seating (possibly Naugahyde upholstery) and brighter and warmer lighting.
--Resolution on officer’s terms (7:55PM)
"The LCAC resolves that the term of its current
officers be extended two months until the May 2006
meeting; and the term of the officers elected in May
2006 be extended until the July 2007 meeting."

CELL PHONE AND/OR SOUND-PRODUCING ELECTRONIC DEVICE
USAGE AT HEARINGS

Effective January 21, 2001, the Board of Supervisors amended the Sunshine Ordinance by adding the following provision: The ringing of and use of cell phones, pagers and similar sound-producing electronic devices are prohibited at this meeting. Please be advised that the Chair may order the removal from the meeting room of any person(s)responsible for the ringing or use of a cell phone, pager, or other similar sound-producing electronic devices (67A.1 Prohibiting the use of cell phone, pager, or other similar sound-producing electronic devices at and during public meetings).

DISABILITY ACCESS
City Hall, Room 278 is wheelchair accessible. The closest accessible BART is Civic Center, three blocks from City Hall. Accessible MUNI lines serving this location are: #42 Downtown Loop, and the #71 Haight/Noriega and the F Line to Market and Van Ness and the Metro stations at Van Ness and Market and at Civic Center. For more information about MUNI accessible services, call 923-6142. There is accessible parking near City Hall at Civic Center Plaza and adjacent to Davies Hall and the War Memorial. Large print copies of the agenda will be made available on request. Please call the Committee Secretary at 252-3142 at least 72 hours in advance of need. In order to allow individuals with environmental illness to attend meetings, all are asked to refrain from wearing perfume or other scented products.

TRANSLATION SERVICES
Interpreters for languages other than English are available on request. Sign language interpreters are also available on request. For either accommodation, please contact the Committee Secretary at 252-3142 at least 72 hours prior to the meeting.
