San Francisco Public Library branches collect materials that meet the needs of the branch community. Like all branch libraries, Chinatown Branch offers high interest books at adult, teen and children's reading levels. Basic collections of fiction, nonfiction and reference materials are available. Branches also offer a variety of magazines, newspapers, audiobooks, CDs and DVDs. Books not collected by a branch may be obtained through the library's request system, Link+, or interlibrary loan. Most of the library's large collection of electronic resources is accessible from all branch locations and online 24 hours a day at www.sfpl.org. Chinatown Branch has a large Asian Interest collection in English which covers China, Chinese culture and the Chinese in America. Additional research materials are available in the Chinese Center at the Main Library. Chinatown Branch has a large collection of Chinese language materials and a medium sized collection of Vietnamese language materials. Chinatown Branch has a neighborhood history file. |
