Learner Accomplishments

	TERESA GOMEZ traveled to Los Angeles to represent United Food/Clerk workers for Seniors Rights. She learned how issues work for and with Senior citizens - SSA, etc. She also learned about the influence that senior citizens have!
	Congratulations to MARY GARDNER on her transition from Project Read into higher education opportunities. Mary will be working towards her dream to become an LVN!
	CHAREE SMITH graduated from her CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) program!
	Congratulations to Cynthia and RICARDO BELL and on their June 5th marriage!
	LARRY ZENO received a certificate for completion of a support services training at his new job as a desk clerk!
	Congratulations to GLORIA ESCOBAR on her graduation/emancipation from the Independent Living Skills Program!
	TORRANCE DOMINGUEZ is diligently researching scholarship sources to finance his college education. If you have any leads for him, contact the Project Read office!
	SHEDRICK FERGUSON, JR. passed the written exam for commercial driving!
	WADE SMITH passed the GED!

Are you a learner who needs glasses?

If you don’t have medical insurance, Project Read can refer you to places that accept Medi-Cal or provide services on a sliding scale. In some cases it’s possible to qualify for free glasses! Phone Tara at 557-4388 for more information.
