All Project Read tutor/learner teams are invited to make use of the Computer Learning Lab located in our offices on the second floor of the Main Library. Each month we offer a three-part “Introduction to Computers” class for Project Read learners accompanied by their tutors. After completing the introductory class, learners and their tutors are invited to take advantage of the other classes offered in the lab, or simply come in during the Drop-In Lab hours and make use of the wide variety of educational software we have available. Some recent Computer classes we offered included “Resume Writing,” “Women and Writing,” “Spelling Better with Computers,” and “Introduction to Typing.” Be on the lookout for flyers announcing upcoming classes.
Each month we also offer introductions to E-MAIL and the INTERNET for learners and their tutors. These sessions are offered on an as needed basis, so if you are interested, please call the Project Read at 557-4388 to set up an appointment.
