Randy gives on-target advice to a tutoring question
Are you curious about what your fellow tutors are up to? Would you love to have surefire tips and proven methods to help your learner improve his/her spelling, comprehension, and study skills?
Have you created lessons or developed strategies that you could share with your fellow tutors and thereby strengthen our learning community?
Joe shares a resource with his fellow tutors
We thought so, that’s why we host monthly Tutor Roundtable meetings. Here’s what one tutor has to say about these meetings:
"Folks who come (including Project Read staff) are a really nice, interesting bunch of people. We share suggestions & resources (Mad-Libs, EclipseCrossword.com, 3rd floor Project Read book section) and some really clever ideas. We get help, encouragement and perspective about problems. We also get a chance to brag about our learners. The pizza is very tasty!" — Michele Gloor
Tutor Roundtables provide a delightful setting to informally chat with your fellow volunteers and members of the Project Read staff. You are sure to leave with fresh ideas to invigorate your sessions and provide ongoing support to the Project Read learner in your life.
Tutor Roundtable meetings happen right here in the Project Read office from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month.
The dates for the next 3 meetings are:
May 3 - facilitated by Leon Veal.
June 7 - facilitated by Randy Weaver.
July 5 - facilitated by Randy Weaver.
