We
held our second free computer raffle on Wednesday, September 5,
2001. Eight computers awaited Project Read learners who had filled
out the entry form.
The lucky winners were Thesesa Abernathy, John Caroompas, Odell Mixon, Jr., Charley Norris, Jr., Mario St. Rose, Carlos Soto, Stacey
Stokes, and Melanie Williams.
Project Read would like to thank these
individuals and organizations for making our computer raffle a reality:
Jon Gillespie for countless hours resuscitating and fine tuning
the computers; Ed Tau for revamping the machines and even plunking
down his own money to purchase sound cards and modems; the San Francisco
Unified School District's talented and tireless David Lanham; and
our collaborative colleagues at Project Read of North San Mateo
County for sharing their generous computer donation from PRA International. |
