Learner Accomplishments!
  • CARLOS HERNANDEZ passed his driver’s test and got his license!
  • JOSE FELICIANO interviewed and got a position with BAYSAN! He began in May. The job provides benefits, mileage, a company car, and will pay for classes at City College to receive certification for drug and alcohol counseling!
  • CECILIA MORENO’s daughter Veronica Angel will be attending SFSU!
  • EDWIN CAUGHELL finished the Carmen Sandiego Word Detective computer program after about three months of dedicated work. “It was a lot fun & challenging. I encourage others to play this game.”
  • MELANIE WILLIAMS passed the written part of the driving test! In April, she also received the Treasure Island Homeless Development Initiative’s (TIHDI) Good Neighbor Award which was presented by Mayor Willie Brown!
  • Former Project Read learner TORRANCE DOMINQUEZ will enter Morgan State University in Baltimore this fall!
