Hi, I’m Brian Castagne. I’ve had such a fabulous time presenting
workshops here over the last few months that, well, you’ve got me hooked.
I’m delighted to sign on as the new Computer Learning Lab Coordinator.
I’ve met with Leon, Lynne, Randy and others to take a fresh look at how
we want to use the lab. We are scheduling new workshops, designing original
lesson plans, and exploring ways to make the computers easier to use. We
hope to make it a vibrant and inviting place for tutors, learners, and
all of our community to stop by and do some cool stuff. |

Project Read will be getting at least one computer from Logan Mein of
Resource International, the company in Bayview-Hunter's Point that donated
a computer for the Holiday Party Potluck. We want to give the computer
to a Project Read learner who is interested in owning one. To choose that
learner, we’ll have a special drawning. For information, call Project Read
at 415-557-4388 or click here to
send an email message. |

If you have an old computer that you no longer use, consider donating
it to Project Read. Through an arrangement we have with Resources
International, a local company that refurbishes computers, we can trade
donated computers, monitors, keyboards, printers, etc. for working computer
systems that we can give to Project Read adult learners for whom purchasing
a functioning computer system would be a financial hardship. Even if your
computer is outdated by current standards, it can still be valuable for
parts. And your donation in tax deductible to the extent allowed by the
law. What could be better?
