Mount Shasta

Pauley’s Move by Harvey Hall, Jr.

As far as I’m concerned Pauley’s move will have some obstacles to come. The distance will help us both grow. We’ll have to depend on ourselves a lot more. We will be friends always.
I don’t know exactly how many miles the bus ride to Mt. Shasta is, but I think it takes about twleve hours. We will take turns visiting each other often.
Having Pauley gone has gotten me to be more independent. I go to eat where and when I please. Before I ate with Pauley – she had a kitchen and fixed the food. Now I mostly eat by myself. When I go to Mimi’s restaurant, I know some of the customers. I get to talk while I eat. I eat steamed rice with gravy. Sometimes I have a hamburger and fries.
