Click, Clack, Moo!
Shedrick Ferguson, Jr. Reads
to His Grandchildren!

A lot of what I love about reading to my grandkids is the expressions they have on their faces and the reactions of their bodies. Sometimes my granddaughter says, “What did you say?” or “What did they do?” They’re interested, they’re listening.
One of the better parts is when they sing and chant along with the book, Click, Clack, Moo. They were into my reading and they were waiting. One time I was reading and I said, “Guess what?” and they said, “CLICK, CLACK, MOO!!”
You get out what you put in. You’re the leader. If you put fun into it and get physical when you read aloud, that’s good. Yeah, that’s good stuff.
I feel good about myself. My granddaughter brought a book to me and I wasn’t afraid to read to her, and I did it. I had more going on than I knew. I had just been sitting on it. Now I go read. I’m really happy with my progress.
