Letter to Jane  by Tyrone White

JaneThrough a church program, Tyrone is sponsoring Jane, a child who lives in Kenya. This is his first letter to her.

Hi Jane,
I hope you and your family are doing well and are prospering. I live in a federal park in San Francisco called the Presidio. The Presidio used to be an army base. It is near the Golden Gate Bridge and the Palace of Fine Arts. I will send you pictures of them.
I am 53 years old and an ex-Marine. I enjoy seeing movies, horseback riding, fishing, camping. I have worked as an animal keeper for the San Francisco Zoo. It was really fun taking care of all the animals. My primary job was caring for the primates (chimpanzees, orangutangs, gorillas, New and Old World monkeys). I also worked for the San Francisco Boys and Girls Club teaching children how to ride and care for horses. I worked as a gardener for a national cemetery. I worked for an art gallery sending art all over the world. These are some of the jobs I have had. Now I am semi-retired and do some of the things I like to do, although I liked my work, too.
Jane, I want you to do the things you like doing, too. It will make you happy, and I want you to be happy.
               Love,
               Tyrone White
