The Volunteer Services Department is responsible for recruiting, training and placing volunteers at the Main Library and in the branches of the San Francisco Public Library. Located in the SFPL Human Resources Office.
Services:Volunteers, under the supervision of Library staff, provide valuable assistance in a variety of ways:
Most assignments through Volunteer Services require a minimum commitment of three hours per week for six-months. Short-term assignments are occasionally available to active Library volunteers, but because of the nature of Library volunteer assignments, short-term community service projects lasting only five or ten hours are not available. For more information call the Library Human Resources (Personnel) Office at 415-557-4585. Thank you for your interest in becoming a San Francisco Public Library volunteer.
