Ingleside Branch Library, the 11th branch established in the
San Francisco Public Library system, was opened in 1925. The
area was previously served by a “library station.” The station
was located in various successive locations, including 422
Holloway Avenue and 1612 Ocean Avenue. Prior to May 2000,
Ingleside Branch was located at 387 Ashton Avenue. Ingleside
Branch moved to its currently leased location, a former Bank of
America Building, at 1649 Ocean at Faxon Avenue, on May 30, 2001.
